At Rahn’s Oil & Propane, we are committed to supporting our community. This commitment was demonstrated in January 2024 when one of our delivery drivers, Travis Mrozek, went above and beyond his duties. We are proud to share this story, which highlights the unexpected and profound impact our team can have beyond our daily responsibilities.
During a routine fuel delivery in rural Melrose, Travis Mrozek was about to leave a delivery ticket at Joe Soenneker’s front door when he heard Joe calling for help from inside. Entering the home, Travis found Joe on his kitchen floor, where he had been for 10 hours after a severe fall the night before. Acting quickly, Travis called 911, moved Joe off of the floor and onto a chair, and stayed with Joe until emergency services arrived. This prompt action was crucial, as Joe was later diagnosed with sepsis, a potentially life-threatening condition.
We are pleased to report that Joe returned to his home in March, where he continues to recover. Throughout this period, his neighbors, the Hellermanns, and other community members have rallied to manage his farm and assist in his recovery.
THE VALUE OF COMMUNITY
We are incredibly proud of Travis’s actions and deeply grateful for the supportive community that Rahn’s is a part of. The commitment shown by our team members and the community during such a crisis exemplified the resilience and compassion we value. These acts of kindness and quick thinking reflect the high standards of care and commitment we strive for at Rahn’s Oil & Propane. Stories like this inspire us to continue being an essential part of our community, always ready to support our neighbors when it matters most.
